Bio

Sonny Lamson grew up in the heart of the music industry surrounded by music legends such as Chet Baker, Stan Getz, Paco De Lucia to name a few. He learned his first jazz standard form Chet Baker who taught him “Black Orpheus” (A.K.A. Manha De Carnaval). Chet was spending a lot of time in the house where Sonny lived so he would be awakened at 4am by musician such as Getz,Baker or Miles Davis jamming in the living room. As amazing as it seems it was actually a rather difficult time for Sonny but it conditioned his influences and musical tastes. He finally started to study piano formally at the Gretry Academy in Liege, then at the Royal Conservatory even though he had vowed to never be a professional musician. He also spent some time many years later at the famous Berklee College Of Music, Boston where he made the “Dean list” for outstanding academic performance. He recently joined The Consultancy LLC as executive producer and musical director.
